Nursery in transition, a set on Flickr.
I could not sleep one night last week because all I could think about was setting up the nursery. Our "nursery" was set up as our office/storage space when we moved in back in August. It is a tiny little room and quickly became the place where we could put things that didn't have a place somewhere else--Collin's golf clubs and racquetball racquet, baby items we began to accumulate, files, and my vacuum. In addition to these piles, we also had a desk with our computers and printer plugged in. With the baby's arrival quickly approaching (less than 6 weeks now), my nesting instincts began to kick in and it was time to make room for baby!
To accommodate the new arrival and the abundance of furniture, clothes, toys, diapers, wipes, blankets, and books that will come with him, we had to get rid of the desk and the extra piles. I made room in the closet for Collin's sporting goods and we moved the desk in the living room. That meant getting rid of half of our "L" shaped couch to make room for the desk in the living room, but it worked out. Oh the joy of a tiny house!
Collin put together the crib, and we quickly filled it with everything "baby", so he can still have some space to work on building the rest of the furniture. Right now he is working on the dresser--it is a bit more difficult than the crib, but he is taking care of it! Thank you to both sets of grandparents for giving us our baby furniture. We are so grateful...and so is baby!
I promise to post more updates as we get more organized and begin to decorate. This is just the beginning!
